Anyone know of any good mp3 programs (preferably free), that convert text to mp3s?

This is an odd thread, but in the spirit of keeping the original question going...

SoundHack. I have used this program to turn many file types into interesting sounds.

.Doc, .txt, .pdf are just a few examples.
