The other day, I made an mp3 CD for my car stereo. The iTunes playlist was a combination of all my Japanese music, most of which have titles in Japanese.

When the titles come up on the car stereo, they have file names like 10.mp3 or 15.mp3. I also noticed that a English title 777-9311 shows up as _777-9311.mp3.

Am I right to assume that the mp3 file naming conventions are about those of CP/M? The first character must be alphabetic with certain exceptions and the other characters must conform to the ASCII character set?

Thanks for your help!

No one knows anything about mp3 naming?

Also, there are some Japanese in the forums. Do any of you make CDs?
