MP3 Music Apps and CarPlay

I've had Apple Music on/off for quite a few years. I like music, but I don't listen to music every single day. I am therefore considering skipping music streaming and switching to "the good old" mp3 files and an app that can play them. But the app must work in CarPlay.

So my question. Which music apps can I import mp3 files into and play in CarPlay?

You can use the built in Music app without having it as a streaming service subscription. I did it for ages before signing up.
