Up until yesterday, I was able to hover over an mp3 icon on my desktop and a play button would appear. Today, that no longer works and the only way I can play an mp3 from my desktop is by hitting the spacebar or double-clicking and opening it in iTunes.

I have tried all the different "View" options for the Desktop (icon, grid, etc.) to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas why this feature would cease working and how I might get it back?

Thank you.

Update:
I took an mp3 I made months ago and moved it to the Desktop and the "Play" icon appears when I hover it but the mp3 I just created today does not show the "Play" icon

I bounced the project from Logic Pro X exactly the same way on both.

Here is the "Info" strip for each file

Sample_5 showed the Play icon when hovering and NEWINTRO did not (they were both created the same exact way in Logic)

Update from today:

I chatted with Apple support and they had me restart the iMac in safe mode - this did not fix the issue

However, it appears as if this issue only occurs with mp3's created in Logic
