Mp3 problem in FCP

I imported an mp3 and it's kind of bassy. When I listen to it in the viewer or even render it on the timeline it sounds like it's skipping a beat or something...I haven't had this problem with any other music. Can somebody tell me what I need to do to fix it?

Open the MP3 in Quicktime Player Pro and convert it to 48KHz Stereo AIFF. Import this AIFF file into FCP and you should be ok.
