Hi all,

What fairly fast free tool can i use to convert a batch of mp3 files from one bitrate to another (lower), while outputting to a folder of my choice?

It's not like you can't drag the songs out onto your desktop from the iTunes listing.

I suggested Max as well.

Excellente! Convert using itunes, and drag into desired folder. thanks Eidorian, now that's what i call a solution. Max looks good as well!

The only problem I've found with dragging from iTunes is that it chokes very easily when you try to copy more then 5-10 files.

would this conversion result in a loss of audio quality?

The result would be a file of worse quality than if you had converted straight from cd to the desired bitrate but how much worse depends on what the mp3 you are converting from would be.

That is why I only ever rip cd's to flac. I could however do with a larger ipod than the 30gb I have. (I use rockbox so I can play flac)
