MP3 ripping

I tried to rip a cd for my own purposes with iTunes 3 and it decided to tell me that I don't have enough privileges or something like that (I am admin)...so i wen and downloaded NMP3 Ripper and it did the job perfectly although it was a bit slower...whats the deal?

the error message was "An 'Access Privileges' Error occured while converting the file <inserthere>"

i've never had any problems like that before, but then again, i haven't ripped any CD's since i had iTunes 2...
