It seems I used to be able to email an mp3 music file as a simple Mail attachment. Now when I try to do this, it just turns into the little player, with no way for the recipient to save. Yes, I'm a bit out of date in many ways. Something seems to have changed besides my brain since I last tried to mail someone a music file. At least I have the courage to sound stupid. Please be patient with your elders. I'm using a macmini and OS 10.13.6 because a later OS would break some app I considered crucial.

Just to be clear - is the recipient saying they're unable to save? Or are you making that assumption based on what you're seeing?

Should be able to save; the "player" is just a cosmetic artifact.

Maybe just rename the extension on the file to TXT or something else and tell them to save and then rename it back to MP3 extension after they save it?

Interesting suggestions.
I am saying I am unable to drag or save the file from the email with it attached I have created and saved . I am assuming the recipient will not be able to either. I'll try sending it to another of my accounts and see how that works. OK. The recipient should be able to save the attachment by choosing the DOWNLOAD option offered. Sorry to have been so dense.
