Okay, so here's the deal. I have a mp4 video that I want to get the audio out of. When I use emov, even with settings on high, the bitrate goes down noticeably. I renamed it as a mp3 file and it played perfectly in quicktime, but won't import into itunes, and I can't export it w/ Quicktime X.

Any ideas?

Yeah don't use that, I use MPEG Streamclip

Import or drag the video in there, and go to File>Export Audio>Use and Adjust settings that pop up and done. iTunes has no issue with it.

Either that or HandBrake, but that is mostly for Video to Video Converting, both are invaluable.
