I have recently started using the freeware version of MP4tools to convert .mkv to .m4v to watch on an Apple TV 3. I started using MP4tools instead of Handbrake or Subler because Handbrake conversion is a lengthy process and with Subler I never figured out how to retain surround sound (files always came out in a format that played in stereo on my ATV).

I've noticed that my MP4tools conversions all seem to have a slight lip sync problem that is not apparent when watching on Quicktime but is apparent when watching on ATV.

Has anyone encountered this and if so is there any solution?

there's a huge thread about it.
search for it and you'll see a link to a beta version that may or may not fix the issue.
