Hi everyone,

I've had my Macbook for a while (first Apple computer), and I have noticed a bit of a slow down in its speed. Please bear with me, I have a very basic knowledge of computer issues.

So I opened up the "activity monitor" and saw that the Page Ins are at: 68.96gb and my Page Outs: 3.95. This is the base 13inch model with 4gb memory and the 2 Duo. Right now I only have very basic applications open: Chrome , BusyCal, Evernote, Launchbar, and iTunes. The apps at the top of the memory usage list are: Google Chrome Renderer at: 158.4 MB.

Is that amount of Page Ins & outs bad? Also here are some of the other stats it shows:

FREE: 718.0 MB VM SIZE: 178.48GB

WIRED: 821.8 MB Page Ins: 68.96 GB

ACTIVE: 1.72GB Page Outs: 3.95 GB

INACTIVE: 798.0 MB Swap Used: 1.13 GB

Sorry, I know you guys probably get questions like these often. Any ideas of how I could combat this? I do have Parallels on this computer, but I rarely ever run it (its not on now). But other than that I just do basic tasks, surfing, download music and some video. No photoshop or gaming. Thanks!
