Hi,

my Mid-2014 MBP 15 (16GB/512GB version) happens to be in pristine condition until today. Unfortunately except for the battery, which made the bottom of the device bulge some weeks ago. I brought it to a local Apple authorized reseller.

To my regret the diagnosis showed not only a swollen battery, but also a defective temperature sensor on the logic board. Which means it requires a new logic board, so the fix would be about 900 € (in Germany) - or more than a used 2015 MBP.

A butterfly MBP is not an option, however the 2020 16“ rumors are promising. But what to do with my defective 2014 unit? Sell at a bargain?

Many thanks in advance!
