Hi
I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6.
I have a fairly old Apple wireless keyboard that I have been using with this computer for years. I disconnected it because I wanted to use my Dell keyboard that I use for my work computer (the Dell keyboard has a slider that makes me think I can switch to a different bluetooth "channel", and I wanted to use it for my Macbook too - the two computers share a screen, I only need to change source).
Unfortunately the MPB does simply not "see" the Dell keyboard. The issue is not with the keyboard as it's connected to my Dell laptop, and it also shows up as a bluetooth device on my iPhone and iPad (not connected to either of them though).
So I wanted to reconnect my Apple keyboard - same issue. It simply does not show up in the bluetooth settings anymore. Some devices still pop up, for example the MPB does find my iPhone as a bluetooth device.
I have already scoured the internet, deleted com.apple.Bluetooth.plist, restarted the MPB multiple times, removed batteries from both keyboards multiple times, etc. I am at a loss however. I have not reset NVRAM or SMC because it looks like other people having similar issues were not successful in doing so, so I don't know if there is a point in trying this.
Any help would be most appreciated, thank you.
