MPB Santa rosa no display, no ext. Display

today my MPB went on the fritz. It was working fine then I went to reset it and I get no display, no apple logo lights up, no external display. I do get the
Start up chime and I can hear the HD spin.

My light on the latch is bright when the lid is CLOSED and dim when the lid is open. It will not go into sleep mode.

Applecare said I need to send it in but I'm on vacation and need to see if there is something I can try here.
