MPEG 4 questions

I'm hoping to get a Sony PSP in Hong Kong next month and have bought the potentially excellent but presently flawed iPSP to get stuff from iTunes and iPhoto on the PSP. It also converts VOB files into mpeg4 in theory. I want to take my fave movie - Spirited Away - with me on the PSP.

Question 1 - How do you join either VOB files of MPEG4 files into one big file?

Question 2 - iPSP converted the first 2 files perfectly and then refused to convert any more. Is there any other software to do this?
