Can imovie do the following, and if not which program you suggest?

I have some movies i converted from dvd to mpeg. Some have scenes I want to delete from the movie. I have tried iMovie and i managed to remove a portion I did want. But, now im not able to save the movie after i have edited that portion. Seems like it just keeps it as "my project." any help regarding how I can manage this. The i7 works fast with this but it takes me forever trying to figure this out!

thanks in advance.

MPEG-x (there is MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (used for DVDs) and MPEG-4) is bad for video editing. Better use the .mov format and the Apple Intermediate Codec via MPEG Streamclip.

Anyway, can't you use the SHARE/EXPORT function of iMovie to export the finished sequence?

Its actually a .m4v video file. The SHARE/EXPORT is faded out, Only when I drag a few clips from the actual whole video will let me share/export. I can't find a way to export the whole video file after it's edited. And iMovie won't let me add ALL the video clip to the top let portion where i can share and export.

i will check out MPEG-X. Thanks.
