MPEG Streamclip or Quicktime Pro?

I want to convert my files in order to be able to edit clips in iMovie '09. I already have flip4mac WMV player pro. I know MPEG Streamclip is free from Squared 5, but I don't mind paying $29 to upgrade my Quicktime to Pro of I will be able to get more features. Suggestions?
