I installed the mpeg 2 codec to use with quicktime and Streamclip but it seems I still can not open vob files. I'm thinking some other adjustment needs to be made that the installer did not do. Thanks for the help in advance....

Are you trying to open the vobs in MPEG Streamclip?

Oh... did you restart your Mac after installing the MPEG2 Playback Component?

streamclip

I am trying to open the vob files in streamclip and/or quicktime. I also rebooted after I ran the installation for the codec.

Could you check whether the MPEG2 Playback Component you have is the universal binary version? I'm guessing that what you have is the PPC version. PPC plugins won't work in a Universal app on an Intel Mac.

Rosetta is all or nothing in the sense that an application and all its plugins must be PPC for it to work. Rosetta won't kick in for a plugin of a Universal application.
