Problem:
when I convert a DV-file (from iMovie) to h.264 (apples own) or x.264 (from the internet) and set the bitrate to e.g. 2Mbit/s, the resulting file has 12Mbit/s.
I asked in a german forum and someone didn't believe, but after testing had the same result. No other member answered to the thread.
question:
1. how can I solve this?
2. is this a known issue with h.264?
3. any alternatives for PowerPC-Macs? (ffmpeg has been a pain in the a... for me. I had to install two additional files and ffmpeg could not find them. If ffmpeg is the only alternative than please be so kind and tell me how to install it as if I was completely dumb).
PS: am I right, that it would make no difference for converting, to use iMovie directly instead of mpegstreamclip? (at least the same problem occurs)
