.mpg files in iMovie'08

Hi guys, I hope you can help. I'm pretty new to mac but loving it so far. I have a short movie in a .mpg file. How can I open this in iMovie '08. I can play it through quiktime (i have flip4mac).

What kind of mpeg file? iMovie should be able to import mpeg-4 files with no issues. mpeg-1 files can be a problem if they're muxed, which it probably is. mpeg-2 files are a problem usually as well.

You might want to try Visual Hub to convert your mpeg-1/2 files to DV.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to convert an IMoive File (mp4) to and mpg so that I can play it on a digital picture frame. Does anyone know how to do this?

Look at the specifications of that digital picture frame, what formats and codecs it accepts, then use MPEG Streamclip to do the appropriate conversion.
