MPG Movie file

Hi,i was trying to play the mpg movie file using vlc,quick time and media playe but it sill can't play.can somone adivse what is the correct player that can play.thanks!

If VLC can't play it then that's a worry. Where's the file from?

Yeah, if VLC can't play it then it's probably corrupt.

it's a movie file tat my friends pass it to me.It's a chinese movie.It can be play on windows with media player but it juz can't play on my mac.wonder why is it in this way.

Are you sure it's an MPG? Is it a WMV? Most WMVs can be played in VLC but not the most modern ones.

hm. try taking i squint and converting it to an mp4 than trying. might work but it is a bit more effort than is probably necassary

Hmm, if it's playing on a different computer then it's obviously not corrupt after all. Maybe it's not an MPEG file, but has been renamed with an .mpg extension. Try renaming it to .wmv and see whether it plays.
