.Mpg question

I have a question. I.m trying to edit an .mpg file that i made on my old windoze PC, but when i import it into Final Cut Express, it won.t put down an audio track or render one. I know in MPG that the audio is on the same track as the video, but there must be some way to do this...i don.t have quicktime pro, and that.s the only workaround i.ve found in the archives. shouldn.t i be able to do this in final cut? anyone know?

wouldn't it be interesting than, that you share your solution with the board community? So that when somebody else stumbels over that problem, he/she can manage/bypass it easier.
