Hi, i've tried converting an mpg to an iPhone compatible format (m4v) but it only converts the picture, no sound.
I'm using Quicktime Pro to do this, any help?? Would it be the same case with wmv?

Cheers

m4v is video, m4a is audio.

You don't usually convert to m4v unless you're splitting the stream for recombining in another format.

There should be a way to convert to a container format that the iphone understands (.mp4?).

You need to use MPEG Streamclip to combine the audio and video into a single file. Yes, I know it LOOKS like 1 file, but they're actually separate inside there.

I think that it can convert it directly to something that the iPhone can play, but you might have to manually set it up right. It might be easier to convert it to some random QT format and THEN use QT Pro to convert to iPhone since QT has a pre-set for that.
