mpg to mov

Hi,
Does anybody know an application to convert mpg to mov without losing the sound. I'm using quicktime pro 5.0 on a 400MhZ iMac. I can convert it, but then the sound is gone.
And Premiere and iMovie can't import mpg's.

convert the files to .DV then try imovie
but with QT pro it should work
