MplayerX audio normalization?

Hello,
I have the latest version of MplayerX and when I watch clips it auto-normalize (or doesn't?) the audio between scenes, which really annoys me. Some scenes would be at normal volume, while others at very high or low volume. How can I fix that?

Another issue that I have - when I'm trying to skip forward and backward with the arrow keys it skips 10 seconds. Is it possible to change it to less than 10 seconds?
