It's about 12pm est right now and the forums are running REALLY slowly. It takes several seconds up to half a minute to load any single page.

There's about 3k users "online" right now. over 2.5k of which are "guests." An attack? or just crawlers slowing down the forum?

It's slow for me too (no avatars has sped it up). My guess is 2.5k guest iPhoners beating up the server :D. Be interesting to see how high users go as we near the end of the week.
 
It's gonna be a good time to go on vacation and not have to deal with the iPhone hoopla.:) I think I will take the weekend off, and most of next week too.:cool:
 
The forums are crawling for me, too. I'd imagine it's from the increased traffic for the iPhone. (well, obviously)
 
arn must better have a contingency plan for the well-being of MR, if the forums are crawling now, I don't even want to think on Friday. *Sigh* it is not even this way in MacWorld or WWDC...
 
Seems quite speedy at the moment, but it just gave me a database error a few minutes ago...

I've gotten quite a few of those the last quarter or so... :(

But now all seems to be well again... :)

Happy iDay Everyone!!

WIth all the hype, I think some forum problems are to be expected throughout the weekend. Wait until all the people are uploading unpacking pics and reviews later today.
 
Yup, it is slowwwwwww.

There's over 5,500 people online right now, and Forum Spy refuses to work (server too busy).
 
I agree the forums are slow, except I'm okay with it because Im on a 14mbps bandwith lol
 
Well now that the iPhone is all done with. Hopefully things will be back to normal. :)
