Ever since updating from MS Office 2016 (desktop) 15.x to 16.9 thru 16.16.5, Excel has had significant glitchy problems. Now after updating to ver. 16.5, Outlook is having issues too (constantly being asked to re-log in my mail account passwords for Comcast & a GoDaddy account).
This issue has been documented here since Jan 2018, still no resolution after umpteen MS Office updates!

Are there any newer MS Office options than 2016 for Mac? Would a newer Mac upgrade make any difference and why? (I am running El Capitan 10.11.6 on a late 2012 Mac Mini, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB ram, SSD drive).
