Hi there,

My dad - who is a veteran mac user but not so much a wizard - keeps bugging me for this issue he is having with MS Office 2008 on his mac. In short it comes down to the fact that his dictionary keeps jumping back and forth between English and Dutch whenever he does a spelling check. While I can enjoy the situation where he gets grumpy and mad behind his oh so awesome mac, he got to the point where a heart strike is just around the corner and well ... even an oh so awesome mac ain't worth that.

Basically he selects a Dutch wall of text and runs a spelling check, where he has to change the language from English to Dutch. There seems to be some kind of option to set the new selected language as 'standard' for the future. However the next day his oh so awesome mac seems to suffer from Alzheimer and reverts back to English.

Which makes me assume there is another - presumably global - setting outside of Office that overrides whatever change is made inside. The catch has always been and will always be to find this filthy hidden setting.

Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that he can't find this setting, or grasp the science and sophisticated logic of the mac dictionary. Mac was made for simple people, and once again that turns out to be true.

Any help truly appreciated
Cheers
