MS Office 2011 already supports Resume

I know that Microsoft said that Office 2011 for Mac will support all the new Lion features in the coming months, but Resume already works. I don't know how, but it works great for me. I can open up a document, make changes, quit out of Word and when I open it back up again, the same document shows up with the edits saved.

I noticed that too - you can also hold Option while quitting and discard all windows. Was this feature applied automatically to certain apps by the OS, or did Microsoft slip in an unannounced update somehow?
