MS Office & Preview files....opens last viewed

Hi all - a quick question - why is it that when I open a document from MS Office or an image using Apple Preview that the previous file that I opened days ago opens up first? I am forced to close that one before I can view the one I just opened - weird - any way to stop this from happening?

It's one of Lion's great new features!

You can turn it off in Sys Prefs under the General tab if you don't like it, though.

Or revert to Snow Leopard...

ok but I dont see the settings for this?
