I have been sent an MS OneNote document which I can open in the browser version but would prefer to use the native application. I think this used to work (I use it very infrequently) but OneNote now fails to start with a "Problem with setting up OneNote" error and an offer to restart to attempt to fix the problem which never works.

Googling the problem suggests that a full reinstall or removal of the ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.onenote.mac file would resolve it, but neither of these has worked. It's been suggested that this problem has appeared since the launch of Catalina but I can't confirm that, and can't find many other suggestions to diagnose the issue.

I'm on MacOS 10.15.3 and OneNote 16.35. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Chris
