MS Word not responding

Hi
I have Word and find that after a short period of time the color wheel of death
appears whenever I try to open a new file. Any advice?

If I had a penny for every time word made a computer slow, id have enough to buy out microsoft... unfortunately i have no real advice. Word is just slow.

Are the files you are opening matched to your version of word? an 07 version takes longer to open in 2011, than a 2011 file would. That's about the only 'help' I can give

Use Font Book to check to see if you have any corrupt fonts. Disable any fonts you don't need.
