It's a Windows installer file. You need Windows to open it. Even then I'd probably not open one sent to me in an email!

thanks...short of installing windows, what are my options? can i send the email to a pc with windows, and ask them to send it back as a pdf?
is my inexperience showing?
maybe i could try the original sender---ask him to alter it...

windows only - not that i'd ever open one from a email

what does the msi file contain ? pdf's are not packaged up as msi - it's executable setup files ect.. like office and stuff

Yes, you could have someone on a Windows machine open it. They could not send it back as a PDF. a MSI extension is a program. Do you trust the sender? Sounds like a virus to me....

oops! not an email thing at all...it's a software download that i purchased...
still stuck with it, though...thanks for your patience, people.

If it's software that you purcashed...you will need to install Windows in order to use it.

msi - Ipod loader from lastminutedotcom

I've subscribed to a podcast. Portuguese phrase book for iPod from last minute dot com through iTunes, and the installer file is .msi. Obviously won't work on a Mac? odd:mad:

another msi file problem

Dear all,

I am very new in the apple world, and am doing my best to understand it the best i can...so i downloaded iArtwork from internet and now i can't open it because it is a msi file..it is a bit bizzare because it is supposed to be for iTunes which is a mac product...so i don't understand why do i need windows for that??
all i want is to have a cover for all the albums i have!

thanks for your help

iTunes is for OS X and Windows. The program you speak of is for Windows. You'll need to find a alternate similar product for mac.
