Is it possible to check IP addresses of people I am talking to on msn?

I can get a list of IP addresses by going to terminal and typing "netstat" or "netstat -n", but I don't know which are for what..
Is there a way to check IPs and which is which in convos of msn?

My understanding is that the ultimate answer to your question is:

- NO if you are not in a direct conversation with the user
- YES, in principle, if the user accepts or initiates a direct convo

Because the direct convo message requester indicates that it reveals your IP address or network identity or something like that. I think otherwise, the MSN server masks the identity of the login source.

But... can I ask... that's a big invasion of privacy, isn't it, to go IP snooping in MSN Messenger? Why do you need to? Do you believe that multiple "people" on your friend list are actually the same person or something like that?

I have 2 immature friends and one of them is pretending to be someone else on another account. I just wanna be able to work out who it is..
