msn and ichat problems

when ever i use msn or ichat it signs me off after about 5 minutes and it's really starting to get on my nerves. it only does it in ichat when im in a text chat. please help

I've never really seen the problem with iChat, unless your connection is flaky, but I've seen it happen with MSN. I found the solution was as simple as the fact that MSN (Microsoft now) Messenger for the Mac is a really bad client. Try using AdiumX (http://www.adiumx.com), and your problems may start to go away. If not, check out your connection.

Adium is pretty a good selection as i've never got disconnected when using Adium...If you still have this problem, probally check with ur ISP as it might be ur connection that is dropping...
