MSN for Mac not working JUST for my email?!

Here's my problem: I can't log in to my @hotmail.com account through MSN for Mac 8. I was using it every single day without any problems. today I woke up, and it just didn't work. it gives me this error:

Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet.

The funny thing is, I am connected correctly to the internet like any other day.
I try to log in with my sister's @hotmail.com account, my friend's and my mom's and all of them work flawlessly. So I thought my email has something wrong with it. I go on Meebo.com I try to log in to my @hotmail.com and it works. I tried logging in on a Windows Live Messenger application on my sister's laptop (Windows) and it's also working... and no, neither my router nor my MacBook have FireWall enabled. and I have all the proxies disabled.

it seems that it is just my email on my MSN app that is not working, and it's depressing me.

any help, please?

p.s. everyone who tries to say, "MSN = crap, Adium = rocks" please save it for another thread.

the problem is back again.... and I don't know how I fixed it last time.
I uninstalled and installed back forth versions 7 and 8 and i think it helped. but this time I did it. when I logged in with MSN 7, it worked for 2 times and then it wouldn't open again....
now i reinstalled msn 8 and nothing! please help!

I have the same issue for 2 days now. After about 10-15 tries it eventually logins, however, if I login via bootcamp it logins perfectly.

Hey, I cleared account history and it connected right away. Not sure what that is all about.

yeah.... like 20 times later, and it worked :S no idea! I friggin hate MSN!! I seriously can't take it anymore... but I can't leave it because a lot of family/friends abroad use it and don't use anything else, soo...

Messenger for mac 8 has some truly awful bugs, forced me to switch to adium which does the job although i dont like the interface as much.
