eh? ......no nevermind....

It's basically like custom version IE for their ISP. Earthlink has one as well. Think is I would never use that crap.

I would never choose MSN as a service provider. I rather stay with Earthlink even though the service went down hill after they bought out my indi ISP.

Oh come on

I would be very interested if this could be used without a membership. If this is the only way to get new versions of IE, then I'm all for it. I use Safari 99% of the time. But every once an awhile I come across a site, usually a car manufacturer's shop for mechanics, that will ONLY run on new versions of IE. As in the crappy one for Mac doesn't work, and MS pulled the plug on development for IS on Mac. I don't know why those sites are so weird, but they would not run with the newest netscape or mozilla. I did find a way around it though, I just had to put up with the sluggish VPC running W2k.

I downloaded it and signed up for the free trial too, IE 6 is not bad and its a little faster than IE 5 but no where near Safari or Mozilla, sites dispaly perfectly on this though, too bad IE 6 never came, M$ got mad with Safari.

Don't kill me, but I just have to say that it absolutely amazes me that someone with a Mac would actually use msn services. Not just because of the whole evil Micro$haft thing, but because there is nothing that msn offers that works better than apps already avaliable on the mac, and there are a lot of better deals our there for internet access...

...I'm speechless

So is this IE 6 for the Mac essentially? Is there a version number to the browser??

I'm using MSN for MacOS X. I switched from PC.. well, yesterday, and I was an MSN subscriber on Windows. However, I think I may cancel and go with .Mac instead. MSN for Mac is missing many key features that exist on the PC.

For example, the free subscription to Mcafee Virusscan & Firewall Online, and MSN Messenger for Mac is missing some features as compared to Messenger for the PC. I was under the impression that installing MSN for Mac would bring the featureset on Messenger up to par with the Windows version, however I was mistaken. Also missing is the PictureIt software, as well as 'Shared Browsing'.

Not to mention this software feels somewhat buggy. Window refreshing is terrible when browsing my e-mails, and general performance is somewhat sluggish.
I'll stick around until MSN 9 Premium for Mac is released. If I don't like what I see, I'll look into a .Mac subscription instead.
