MSN Messenger for Mac not working

I am not able to sign in using MS Messenger for Mac 8.0.1. I get a error saying "the service is not responding." Is anyone else having this problem? I am able to sign in with third party apps such as Adium, however they lack the audio/video features of the Mac client. Thanks,
