MSN Messenger glitches since 10.5.7 update

Hi all,

I have a pre-August 2008 MBP and suffered the same screen and standby issues as everyone else since the 10.5.7 OSX update.

Having fixed those I still face the annoyance of all the MSN sounds (someone signing in etc) being cut short.

I also suffer the problem of the chat windows losing focus after every response.

So I'd type something and then have to reclick in the dialogue box to type something else.

I have no idea how to fix this. Have Apple put out some sort of patch to fix all the problems they have created with the 10.5.7. update?

I have reinstalled MSN twice but nothing doing.

Thanks a lot for all the great tips guys- it never occurred to me that the Safari Beta might be responsible! I downloaded them on the same day so it figures.

I found aMSN buggy. I've tried all instant messaging applications for Mac and so far Adium has been best one. It doesn't have video support yet so for video and audio I use Mercury MSN.
