With Adium for some reason the contact list is not showing up. I don't like the interface with MSN (Mac version) too much. And I hate Amsn. Is there any other options out there? Or do you know how to fix Adium?

Are you using leopard with Adium? it could be a bug,
there is Mercury messenger, with audio and video, but you'll probably hate the UI, really it's ugly
No, I'm still using Tiger. I'm going to try Mercury.

Adium is the best of the lot. If ever Pidgin reaches the 21st century (it's traditional unpaid open-source, so that's questionable), it will rock.
Tried aMSN, hate it, too unstable. Lockups and beachballs abound. When it *works* it's absolutely second to none, it's just that it rarely works.
Mercury is your best bet for an alternative. Otherwise hang in there with Adium.

Apparently they are. Messenger for Mac has now ceased further development and the Mac Business Unit at Microsoft is starting from scratch. So we'll see what they come up with.
I personally dont like Adium....but if you are looking to add your MSN contact you can always try Yahoo Messenger since it has option to add MSN contacts....it works great for me.
One day, when iChat supports MSN..(without that jabber crap) I'll stop using Messenger for mac. It has never given me major problems (aside from during the safari 3 beta time period).
I like simplicity, so adium has imo to much crap i dont need. Some might like it..but I don't.

I like web messenger, but you don't get video or audio. I'll just deal with it, as I use skype for my audio/video needs.
They'll probably cancel most of the new features, give it a pretty interface and release it in 2011
