MSWord 2004 language problem

After the update to 10.6.2, Word (latest version 11.5.6) will not accept Japanese input, with either J or E selected first in the language preference pane. In fact all Japanese input is greyed out in the language input selection from the menu bar. It was working fine with MS word 2004 previously. Will try an reinstall of ATOK the Japanese input method software, but I certainly don't appreciate the trouble involved. :apple::confused::eek::apple:

Edit* Reinstallation of ATOK fixed this, but what caused the problem suddenly? Another MS rant in the making.....
