Hi All,

I'm after a 4 bay enclosure to house my SATA drives. Must have FW800.

I plan to use them as 'just a bunch of disks' so RAID and Networking are not important.

I've searched low and high but can't find anything suitable!!!

I'd appreciate a few suggestions please.

Thanks, KK

OWC has dual drive firewire 800 external enclosure
perhaps you can look up similar products in UK.

Or an old PowerMac G4, SATA card, and gigabit ethernet.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm very tempted by the Drobo, I've almost order one on numerous occasions this weekend! But, it's overkill for my needs.

I just a reliable, 4-bay enclosure, SATA with Firewire 800.

If I can't find anything suitable then I'll probably pony up for the Drobo, but there's gotta be something cheaper, and less flashy.

Consultant, thanks for the tip but I'm alright short on space so a G4 would be out of the question. I did have look for OWC enclosures, but they're not available here.

Don't mean too steal the thread but I've got a question about multi bay enclosures.
Could I make a 2bay enclosure with both bays full work as one complete hard drive. Two 500gbs equaling 1tb or would they be seperate ?
And id have too access them seperately
