I have the Fujitsu S1300 as a multi-purpose device for scanning documents to photographs. I was informed that it was fully OS X compatible. It comes with ScanSnap manager, a very limiting scanning conduit. The multi-feed is perfect as I can scan any where from 25-30 pictures at a time. However, the software doesn't allow for tweaking the images (exposure, color balance, brightness), resulting in darker scans.

SO I'm throwing in the towel. My options are:

1. Another multi-feed scanner with TWAIN/SANE/Image Capture support for true photo digitization

-or-

2. Alter the Sane.ds file in /Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources by adding the vendor and product IDs (have tried this and cannot get it to work, any advice as to what I may be doing wrong?)

Thanks and hope everyone is having a great holiday season! :)

Update: Another MacRumors member recommended the Epson WorkForce Pro GT-S50. I've read very positive reviews. Anyone have experience with it scanning photographs? It supports TWAIN/ISIS...
