How can I do this? I want to order a region 1 dvd, and I have a macbook and imac with region 2 encoded.

You can change region up to 5 times, then it locks permanently.
(Some people are bound to tell you to use VLC to bypass the region check, but that only works on older hardware.)
One possible solution is to change region to region 1, rip the DVD using it to MactheRipper while also region freeing the DVD, then burn the DVD (which is now region-free). Now, put your DVD player back to region 2, and your burned DVD will still play.

No, Unless you're DVD drive is one that can be firmware flashed to make it region free.
