Multi-tasking Two GPS apps

Sorry if this is a real stupid question but I guess one of you guys will be able to answer it instantly.

Question is can I multi-task two gps applications at the same time. I want to go on a long bike ride so will have Cyclemaster running and it would be really handy to have tom-tom running at the same time to direct me.
