I'm a new Mac owner coming from years of PC usage. I'm trying to figure out how best to set up iTunes for my iphone and my wife's iPad on the iMac but I have a few questions.
1) transferring my music over:
I have my PC music and iTunes folder on an external HD. Is there a specific location on the iMac to copy those files? I assume its the "music" folder, but should I replace the contents of my imac itunes folder with the content from my PC's iTunes folder?
2) iTunes and iMac account set up:
My wife and I have two separate itunes accounts for purchasing music and apps but we share the same music, playlists, photos and vids. Here's what I want to do: allow both i-Devices to sync from the same file pool (music, pics, vids) but also have our own separate email, preferences, and contacts list that sync on on the iMac. Is this possible? The only way I can think of is having two user accounts on the iMac, but putting all media on my account. I then have my wife as a 2nd account on the imac with administrator privileges and shared access to all of my folders. Then set up her iTunes to use my media files as her library. Everything else like email, contacts, and i-Device apps will be separate. One last thing, I thought about merging our apple accounts for apps but the reality is that the majority of my wife's iPad apps are for iPad only, which aren't iphone compatible, so whats the point.
Sorry for the long question, looking forward to the responses and opinions.
