Hi guys,

Is there a multichannel USB soundcard for the Mac, so that I can connect my 4.1 speakers? From Creative I see only 2ch (ment for headsets) USB soundcards.

don't know if there is such hardware...

what i use:

Just use a Toslink cable and this adapter to plug it into your Mac's headphone jack.

note

music will normally be stereo but if you like movies with 5.1 channels i can recommend the hardware above.

combined with good speakers this setup could easily destroy your ears ;)

google found this...

Thanks!

I already have 4.1 speakers - I think that USB soundcard is what I am looking for - my gaming is limited to Mac titles on Steam and mainly PC titles on Steam and few DVD based.

As long as I can get 4.1 sound from games and e.g. VLC player, then I will be happy.

Your welcome!

Why you have a 4.1 Soundsystem? What about the center speaker?

When you watch movies (dvds or blurays) they come with 5.1 dolby or 5.1 dts sound. And the center speaker plays all the "talking stuff"

If you need to rely on accurate gaming sound i would recommend a good headset.

It is from my PC gaming days... I do not watch movies on computer, but on the big 92" screen with 9.2 sound :)

:D:D:D
