I need to retire my old separates (HP laserjet, separate fax, and a HP mulfi-function printer/scanner/copier).

My old HP multi-function has abyssmal scanning speed at anything other than the lowest possible resolution. I am considering the Brother MFC-8890-DW, but I can't seem to find much information about scanning speed and performance on the newest offerings.

I need a device that can handle creating soft copies of 100s of articles at a decent speed. I want something where I can feed a 30 page article into the document feeder and have it produce, say, a 1200 dpi scan in 5 minutes.

bump. Can anyone out there tell me if the Brother has decent scanning speeds or if there is a more suitable model?
