Any advice on games to try that would allow two players (on the same wifi network, each with their own iphone) to play at the same time, ideally with the option to airplay the action to the TV?

Most airplay games I've tried have a strong single-player point of view or have a point of view for each player so that airplaying one phone for the TV is an major advantage to one player only!

Any recommendations?

There's tons of games that have multiplier. Metal storm is a good one to try. But has far as AirPlay goes. You can't AirPlay more then one device at a time. Sorry. If you want to go all hard core you could push two TV's next to each other and get two Apple TV's.

Ta for that. I was wondering if there is something where both players use the same "arena" so it didn't matter whose display was airplayed to the TV. I suppose I'm thinking of antique console video game systems like Atari or Videopac G7000.

Maybe today's coders are too young to remember - or don't have enough friends who are prepared to sit next to them (!).

I spent many hours trouncing family members round this track - about 30 years ago...

Flight control is one of them. I think warms3 is another one. However I have yet to try warms3, due to some bad review using io8.

Anybody else know of any other such games??

Battle Supremacy, while it doesn't allow for players on the same WiFi network, is a great game. Looks great especially on the iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 with it taking advantage of Metal.

Perhaps if you and the other person hit the "online" button at the same time, you'll get in the same online game. Seems to work about 80% of the time with my friends and I.

I am not associated with developers of this game in any way.
