Hi,

the iphone comes in multiple versions for its 4g modem . Does this apply to the ipad Air 2 too?
Asking because I need to but an ipad here in the US but I'll move to Europe for 2 years and I'd like to get the best 4G service possible.

Thanks
G.

It covers all the lte bands regardless so purchase away. Remember Europe has fantastic wifi coverage so unless you require Gps you could save money.

While the iPhone 6 comes in two versions:

1. Unlocked/SIM-free, Sprint, and overseas carriers
2. AT&T, TMO and Verizon

Version 1 supports ALL of the bands used by version 2 plus a few others (yes, this seems nonsensical... why Apple did this is kind of a mystery). The one and only iPad version though has the same modem in it as #1 so you are good to go with it on all carriers.

*Note: None of the current Apple products support LTE band 12 which T-Mobile USA and some smaller carriers use in certain areas. Gonna have to wait for the "S" version for that.
